Now a full-service graphic solution business, Parer & Co Design started after Sean Parer went out on his own following a stint at a London Design Studio and an Australian advertising agency. His creative instincts and a keen eye for quality design proved an excellent match for graphic design work.
“Every time I saw a good logo or brochure design, it triggered something in me. So I look for a good balance between aesthetics and usability.”
Sean gets a strong sense of pride from his work. “My greatest satisfaction comes from hearing my clients say, ‘Wow, that’s exactly what I was looking for and knowing what I have given them will do the job they need it to.”
He also enjoys looking beyond design to help clients achieve their larger goals. “I enjoy being part of their growth journey. It’s been a privilege to have helped many small local businesses become large businesses.”
Sean’s design career began over 35 years ago when he worked as a draftsman for Mt Isa Mines. Along the way, he picked up some design jobs. This continued during his role as the chief draftsman at a plan printing company.
Responding to the call of travel, Sean moved to London and completed a three-year cadetship with a design company. Then, he came back to Australia, worked at the ad agency and, as they say, the rest is history.
As a Sunshine Coast local of more than 30 years, Sean is well known around the traps. In fact, his son-in-law jokingly calls him “The Mayor of Noosa”! When Sean’s not working, you might find him enjoying a quiet ale at one of Noosa’s haunts or relaxing by or on the water with family and friends.
Sean might come across as pretty laid back, but underneath his relaxed demeanour is a love for what he does and a commitment to excellence in design and production.
